My Approach to Supervision

I believe that supervision works best within an environment of trust, friendly curiosity and respect, where all can be honest about all areas of our work.  Personally, I work from a psychodynamic view, but support each individual counsellor/therapist in developing their own way of working.  It seems that we are likely to be most effective when our learning and therapeutic skills are in tune with how we feel about what we are doing.

Qualifications and Experience

I am a qualified supervisor; a Registered Member of BAPPS (British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision).

Supervision and Reflective Practice consultations are available for counsellors in training, qualified counsellors and other health professionals.  This can be in groups or one to one - for short-term work or open-ended therapy.

I have been a training supervisor for Wpf therapy with Wessex Counselling Service from 2008 to 2013.

I supervise counsellors working for PAC (Positive Action on Cancer) and Music Therapists working for Soundwell Music Therapy Trust.
